Driving through our neighborhood this morning, I saw a teenage girl walking to school. She had her backpack and fashionable coat, but no hat or gloves. Before I could stop them, the words "Where is your hat, young lady?!" popped into my head.
*sigh* I guess I'm officially a grown-up now, huh?

You sound like a mom! I always told the girls to get their hat and mittens on before going to the bus stop; then Barry would tell them, "Just do as your Mom says, then take them off when you're around the corner." It is just not cool to wear those things. My neighbor boy is still wearing shorts to school.
